![]() It’s messy and downright time-consuming (moving even a single TB of data can take over an hour and a half). Keep in my that I had to do this in batches, because my PS4 Pro only has a 1TB internal hard drive. Then I moved everything from my full 2TB external drive to the now-empty internal, swapped the 2TB drive and the 4TB drive again, then moved everything from the internal to the 4TB. What's involved? Well I had to first move all the contents of my internal hard drive over to the new 4TB one to free up space, and once the internal drive was empty, I unplugged the 4TB drive and plugged in my older at-capacity 2TB portable. ![]() Since the PS4 firmware only allows for one external drive to be used at a given time, the process of moving software between them is unnecessarily tedious. Once formatting has finished, a green dot will appear next to the operational drive.
